Sparx FIRE · Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, Fremont
More glide. Different feel. Same $15 a pair.
Sparx FIRE is a flat-bottom cut that changes the balance between bite and glide compared with a traditional hollow. It isn’t automatically better, just a different feel underfoot.
I like FIRE for a lot of intermediate and advanced players because of the extra glide, but the right setup depends on how you skate, your size, experience and position. It’s included at no extra charge.

Both cuts are included at the same price. Here’s the plain-language difference.
The classic round-groove cut most shops use by default. It digs deeper into the ice for more bite and control, which a lot of players are used to for tight turns and quick stops.
A flat-bottom cut that shifts the balance toward glide. Less resistance under the blade, so some players find it easier to carry speed and cover ice.
Neither one is faster or better for everyone. It comes down to your skating style, size, experience and what feels right underfoot.
FIRE is Sparx’s flat-bottom hollow, different from the traditional round-groove cut most shops use by default.
Not automatically. It shifts the balance toward more glide, which some players turn into speed, but it’s a feel change, not a guaranteed upgrade.
Some players notice a little less bite right away, since there’s less edge digging into the ice. Most adjust within a session or two.

No. FIRE is included in the standard $15 a pair, same as Traditional.
Open Find my hollow and answer age, height, weight, skating level and position. Your starting depth for Traditional or FIRE appears at the bottom, under Your recommended hollow. I fine-tune it with you after a skate.
